Dear Home of Poesy

I pencil you

of halcyon,

of Frigg,

and of lore of pear.

Pondering if you are in receipt of my notes.

I pen you

of cherry blossom,

of waterless field,

and of leaning palm tree.

Pondering if you are in receipt of my posts.

I etch you

of white sparrow,

of black crow,

and of blind blue jay.

Pondering if you are in receipt of my memos.

I engrave you

of Hilo’s tsunami,

of plastic island,

and of basement in Sarajevo.

Pondering if you are in receipt of my dispatches.

I write to you in hope,

furrowing for your heartbeat.

I write to you in earnest,

yearning to be your voice.

Most sincerely,

Me
